Dr.Taylan Altan
Dr.Altan is the Director of the ERC for Net Shape Manufacturing and a Professor of Industrial and Systems & Mechanical Engineering at
The Ohio State University. He was educated at the Technical University of Hannover, Germany and University of California-Berkeley. Dr.Altan joined the faculty of OSU in 1986, after working 2 years at
Dupont and 19 years at Battelle Columbus Laboratories, an internationally known research and development organization. Dr. Altan has authored and co-authored numerous articles and three books related to
metal forming. He is also a Fellow Member of SME, ASME, and ASM International. He is an Active Member of the Institute for Production Engineering Research (CIRP).
